Woke up today feeling really ecstatic because my dreams are finally put to reality. Met up with Justin at Chinatown to settled our flights, accommodations etc. We finally got everything settled after dragging it for so long because of our hectic schedules! There is just so much exciting events that are lined up in the month of December, the thought of it takes my breath away.

Putting aside all these excitement, life still goes on and tummies still yearns for food. Pick "Yummy Viet" to settle our lunch. This small, cosy and authentic Vietnam cuisine restaurant is located at:

Yummy Viet
(Chinatown Outlet)

28 Smith Street Chinatown "Food Street" Singapore 058942
Tel: +65 6222 5191
Hours: Mon-Sun 11:00AM - 11:00PM

Summer Rolls (Gỏi Cuốn)

This Summer Roll is a Vietnam salad roll; a rather popular and essential appetizer among Vietnamese cuisines. Wrapped inside the translucent Vietnamese rice paper are: Prawns, rice vermicelli, vegetable and meat. What makes this really tasty is the peanut sauce, take a mouthful of it dipped inside the peanut sauce - heaven.

Sliced Beef Noodle Soup (Phở Bò Tái)

Unless those chinese "Kway Tiao", I personally prefer thin rice noodles like this. I was caught by surprise by the sweet broth of the dish. Yummy Viet is rather generous with their servings, you can expect quite a lot of beef slice inside this noodle soup.

Beef Salad

This Beef Salad got to be one of my favourite dish. Tender sweet and mild spicy beef served with refreshing vegetables. A real good balance between protein and fibre.

Chicken Curry with Baguette (Càri Gà)

Vietnamese curry are quite similar to Japanese's; sweet, thick and rich. Beside that, the dish is pretty simple and normal.

And while we were going back, we passed by this shop selling what I initially thought was pencils.

Have you figured it out yet? They are actually chopsticks! Available in different colours, height and design. The more popular designs are: Hello Kitty, Elmo, Chip 'n' Dale, Marie etc. They offer chinese zodiac signs and surname designs too. Pretty good gift for friends and families if you ask me :)
