Post-vacation blues; it usually happens to me even before my vacation ends, especially on the last day.

For the 3rd day, we were all up early for our final itinerary in Phuket – Island hopping. One of the main tourist attractions in Phuket is their island exploring packages, where you can travel to the famous Phi Phi Island, James Bond Island and Coral Island etc. Since J and I have been to Phi Phi Island on our previous trip, the rest of the group was kind enough to skip these 2 islands.

On board the speed boat, we all got serious sun burns but hack, it was all worth it. Against the blustery wind, our hair got blown in all directions and yet, the trip there was still filled with fun and laughter. Coral Island was however, nothing like how beautiful it sounded. The beach was cluttered with tourists; our enjoyment was accomplished through sand castles building and the over priced-but-yummy grilled corn.

Raya Island was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Long stretch of smooth sandy white beach, gentle waves and shallow teal blue sea, it won my heart over from Phi Phi Island. One of the prettiest place nature brought to us.

Usually, the first thing people think of when they wake up is to have their breakfast. In contradictory, my first thought upon waking up on the 2nd day in U Zenmaya was simply the massage session. J & I are suckers for massages; we are often on the search for good, valuable spa packages back in Singapore.

For breakfast, we decided on outdoor seats. I mean why not? Inside the shady pavilion, we get to enjoy the sea view with water that sparkles under the sunlight and feeling the sea breeze against our skin. When at a beach holiday, just submerge yourself in the beauty of nature. Apart from my dining experience at The Rock Bar in Bali, Jimbaran, This is the second place I have dined at that is accompanied by a wonderful sea view.

U Zenmaya has quite a spread for their breakfast buffet at the Zeascape Restaurant. I love how the beverages come in big bottle form, so you don’t need to travel back and forth to refill your drinks. In Thailand, their fruits are way sweeter than those we buy in Singapore. Which is why I always finish their fruit plate (if any).

After the fulfilling breakfast, every one took turns for the complimentary massage before washing up and head to Patong for lunch and the Simon Cabaret show later that night.

Dinner was settled at the highly raved Number 6 Restaurant. Note - Number 6 Restaurant is not in any way affiliated with Number 6 Red Chair Seafood. When we arrived, there was a short queue and the place was packed with tourist from different countries. That was enough to prove its popularity among tourist.

However, the food itself was not as outstanding. Most of the dishes we ordered were heavily seasoned with salt. Personally, I only found their fried prawn in batter worth recommending, but their prices are indeed cheaper than anywhere else in Patong.

I wondered why did J and I actually remove the Simon Cabaret show from the itinerary in our previous Phuket trip. The show was definitely an eye opener for me (although its a lip syncing show) and I truly enjoyed it! There were both transvestites and transsexuals who participated in the show, and it is a shame when a transsexual actually looks more feminine than a natural women. Standing beside them with my camera bag and tired face, I feel so much like an old lady compared to them.

Well, of course the boys were more popular with performers. Everywhere J went, the "girls" were all calling out to him for a picture. And you can see, he sure was enjoying his popularity haha!

Travelling to Phuket was an impromptu and spontaneous decision. The entire planning of this trip was held in secrecy, simply because it was a surprise birthday trip for Bryan from Sheryl. I still can recall how I almost let the cat out of the bag not once but on many different occasions! Every day was spend counting down, and when that day finally arrived, we had a difficult-fun time trying to avoid been seen by Bryan at the airport. I would say that it was a sweet success getting him surprised.

Our accommodation was also planned by la mademoiselle: Sheryl herself. And that’s how I landed myself at this beautiful 5 month old resort – U Zenmaya Phuket. Unlike my first trip to Phuket (read it here), U Zenmaya was one of our highlights for the trip. Having been 590 miles away from home, the least thing I needed was checking in to some filthy place to sleep my nights away. On contradictory to my previous accommodation, U Zenmaya is truly one of the best places for a healthy and revitalising break.

I didn’t mean to brag but we were seriously lucky because our package includes a 2 hours spa session EVERYDAY for ALL 6 OF US. In addition, with a mixture of deluxe seaview and junior seaview pool access rooms, we filled the entire level so we practically leave our doors open because it’s just us! And all the 3 room shares a private pool! Each room is equipped with in-room Jacuzzis, a large terrace/patio. I honestly have nothing but only praises for the place.

Dinner of the night was served at Number 6 Red Chair Seafood. Because J and I had such a yummy and fulfilling experience there previously, we brought the entire group over. With our heads filled with excitement, we kind of forgotten that the previous trip was 2 years ago and so we took quite a while to search for the stall. Despite all these, it was definitely an happy tummies night.

After a ultra long wait, I've finally complete my travelogue on Phuket. Yes, this post marks the last day I get to soak in the sun rays, indulge in all the good Thai food and enjoyment of Phuket.

Woke up really early on the last day to check in our baggage at the hotel lobby before proceeding with more sight seeing and last minutes shopping for family and friends. Nothing really changed beside the fact that both of us got sun burnt from all the water activities the previous day.

Made another trip down to Jungceylon shopping mall and realized that we didn't explore the back of the mall extension which had much more shops! Lucky us! There's so much to be thankful for, especially the weather. If the weather had not been excellent during the entire stay, we wouldn't get to enjoy all the fun.

Before heading out to the streets again, this ete ice-cream stall caught my attention with the long queue it was holding. It seems like a famous ice cream stall for the locals, something like our Ben & Jerry or perhaps Marble Slab

And so we got a cone with 2 scoops of ice cream! Maccadamia Brittle for me and the Young Coconut Sorbet for the Mister.

At last, we arrived at the 50 Baht shop after walking down 2 streets under the sun! J wanted to buy singlets so we spent quite a while there choosing patterns, colours, sizes plus they also sold other items such as make up pouches, bags and souvenirs all at 50 Baht.

That would be me, sitting down on their staff tool waiting for the Mister to finish his shopping while I took self shots (good lightings!).

Hi Mr-muscle-all-over. His arms are getting ridiculously huge these days!

Chanced upon their Family Mart; a 7-11 concept store, and had this bad craving for spicy titbits. Mind you, it might be Thailand where the food are always hot and spicy but you can hardly get spicy titbits in Phuket. So was I happy when I saw Calbee spicy fries, until the moment we ripped open the pack. Instead of what we both thought to be spicy flavoured fries, 2 sachet of chili sauce was found inside. We stoned for nearly a minute before our brain finally process this truth and we just stood by the roadside laughing ourselves silly.

Yes, we ate it this way. #lol

Lunch at some random home cook restaurant with pineapple rice, Barbecue prawns and Fry fish! The camera is obviously not doing any justice to the fish, it was the utmost delicious dish of the entire meal!

On our way back, J stopped by this mobile drink stall and got us a cup of milk tea which was really 90% condense milk and 10% tea. Real sweet. All those condense milk filled cup prepared at the side had bees crawling inside, all over it. Gosh, can you image how sweet this stuff is?

Night market along the beach starts operating early on weekends. By 4pm food stall are already set up with pipping hot seafood and bites you can enjoy from!


Free sitting along the beach for you to enjoy the food with. Sea breeze, music and good food. I will definitely miss this place.
