Another stay home Sunday with my awesome family. Char Kuey Teow (Tan's style) for dinner :) You might notice that unlike those kuey teow outside, we add extra ingredients and remove some. We don't add cockles or "ham" because sis & bro has skin allergies. Dad's really good at changing food style to fit the family's taste :)

Slice fish cake, dried chinese sausage (lap cheong) & onions

Carrots, lettuce & egg

And the most important ingredient of the dish: kuey teow & yellow noodles!

Add in the onion (plus chopped garlic) into wok, fry till golden brown and fragrant. Follow by adding in the fish cake and dried chinese sausage. Stir fry until cooked & glossy. When the first batch of ingredients are cooked, add in the carrots & lettuce (plus bean sprout) and continue to stir fry till these 2 are cooked before coating all the ingredients with the egg. Add in the kuey teow & yellow noodles, black sauce (sweet sauce) and salt and stir fry the dish till cooked and its ready for the table.

If you fancy a dish of spicy kuey teow, add your favourable amount of sambal chili paste and stir fry along with the rest of the ingredients.

Tan's style Char Kuey Teow

Most enjoyable thing? Every member of the family together in the cooking session. Noting beats a wonderful family time together :)
